Papa John's is Big Hit in Christmas Parade The Papa John's Pizza stores in the Columbus, Georgia/ Phenix City, Alabama area were a big hit again this year in the big Columbus/Phenix City Christmas Parade. The annual Christmas Parade is a 20+ year tradition in the Columbus/Phenix City area. Thousands of people line the downtown streets of Phenix City and Columbus early in the morning to get a great place to watch. The parade starts in downtown Phenix City and ends at the government center of Columbus. The Papa John's float had a live band playing very lively music. The band consisted of Papa John's employees Dean Curley (drums), Donald Hall (guitar) and his son Andrew Hall (guitar). Following the float were Mr. Slicy (a very large pizza slice - see photo) and several Papa John's team members throwing candy. This is the second year Papa John's has participated in the Christmas Parade. As the band played, the crowd went crazy. Spectators sang along with the Christmas songs and Mr. Slicy got ambushed by children screaming "Throw me some candy!" click on photos to enlarge |
